The Monkey Hardware holds system is suited to a wide range of users,  it is excellent for providing an adventurous activity which is; temporary, quick to set up, cost effective, unique , visually impressive, minimal impact, GREAT FUN.

The most cost effective way to buy monkey hardware is in a set.

Your set will arrive in a box, it contains

  • Monkeys (the Patented plastic plates which join the hold and the tension strap)
  • The tension straps.
  • The colored climbing holds, all the nuts and bolts you will need.
  • Allen key and stuff sack.

The sets have been designed for different users, ranging from small sets which are for creating a low level challenge on a couple of trees, (perfect for day care centers, play groups, or just to try in your back yard), to very large sets which will enable you to set 4 or 5 climbs to 9 meters (perfect for starting a climbing park, a station in an adventure race, a scout jamboree)

Climbing Monkeys will be a fun and challenging experience. The possibilities for young or old, inexperienced or competent climbers are endless, as there are so many different trees out there, (and other things to strap the Monkeys too).

Be safe in the trees:

In Australia, it is considered good practice for any tree which is in a public place (or used by the public) to be surveyed by a competent person. Usually this is managed by your local council.

If you are planning to set up the monkeys on trees which are on private land, then you may need to arrange this survey yourself. (this is only really required for belayed routes).  You can learn more about his process on a Level 2 training course. Or contact Adventure Developments / your local Arborist for advice.

Training:

Adventure Developments has developed a training program to ensure that operators have the necessary skills to ensure the safety their clients.

The course is split into 2 levels and has drawn on the Australian governments sis10 training modules for outdoor recreation.

The training is presented in a workshop style, participants will be assessed for competency by the instructor and presented with a certificate of completion.

Level 1 Operator Is usually a 2 day program. (Fitting harnesses, Teaching belaying, rescuing, group management, using and caring for the Monkeys, relevant standard procedures and legislation)

Level 2 Route setter. Is usually a 1 day program. (Select the trees to use, set the anchors and set holds)

Level one Operator may be done in 1 day if participants are experienced & qualified in the operation of top rope climbing.
